Remote control¶
Using the remote¶
The infrared remote control provided with the ADept controls all key runtime functions.
- Standby

Put the ADept into standby and take it out again.
- Mute

Mute and unmute audio output.
- Volume

Reduce or increase the output volume. The rightmost row of LEDs lights up to provide an approximate +indication of the current volume. Each button press changes the volume by 1 dB.

These buttons are also used to navigate the front panel settings – see the Media control buttons below.
- Media control
- The Media control buttons, together with the volume control buttons, can be used to navigate the settings. To begin, press the Play/pause button. One of the currently selected LEDs will blink. Use the left/right/+/– buttons to move this flashing LED around the front panel. When you are at the setting that you want to change to, press Play/pause again to activate it.
- Equalization select

Cycles through the Equalization settings. (On other processors, this button turns Dirac Live on and off, hence the icon.)
- Source selection

Cycles through the four input sources: Moving Coil, Moving Magnet, RCA (line-level), XLR.
- Preset (1 through 4)

Switch to the selected preset.
Volume steps¶
Each press of the remote control's volume buttons reduces or increase the output volume by 1 dB.
The LED indicator column provides a coarse indication of volume, as follows:

Disabling the remote¶
The infrared remote can be disabled with the procedure below. This is for user convenience when using the ADept with another miniDSP processor.
To disable the remote:
- Press and hold down the encoder button.
- Wait for ten seconds until the currently-lit front panel LEDs briefly flash off, then turn on again.
- Release the encoder button.
From then on, the front LEDs will flash off and on again when the ADept detects a command from the remote, but the command will be ignored.
To enable the remote again, repeat the above procedure.
