Playing Audio¶
The miniDSP ADept has a relatively simple but useful set of input and output connections.
Warning
Ensure all equipment is powered off when making audio connections.
Connecting sources¶
The diagram below illustrates line-level sources connected to the miniDSP ADept. A single-ended analog source can be connected to the RCA inputs, while a balanced analog source can be connected to the XLR inputs. Select either the RCA or XLR input with the front panel or remote control. These line-level signals can have a maximum input of 2.2 Vrms on RCA and 4.4 Vrms on XLR.
The diagram below illustrates a turntable connected directly to the ADept. In this case, select either the Moving Coil or Moving Magnet input, depending on your cartridge.
Connecting digital outputs¶
Connect one of the digital outputs to a TOSLINK (optical) or coax digital input on other equipment. The sample rate on these outputs follows the sample rate set by the USB Audio connection. (If the computer is disconnected, the last sample rate is used.)
For USB recording, connect a computer to the USB Type-C port on the ADept. For more information, see USB Audio.
Warning
Before playing audio for the first time, turn your system volume down. Increase it gradually after audio playback starts.
